How to set up
your E-bay accounts and get instant positive
feedback |

Yes, I know. This is the most boring part of
starting your business, but a very necessary one. Let's jump
right in and get it over with so we can fill your new store with
merchandise!
This step will guide you through
how to register with E-bay, and how
to gain your first positive feedback.
Opening a new e-Bay account
First off, we suggest you open a new
E-bay account that you use solely for your business.
They are free and E-bay allows you to have as many as you want.
A new account will give you a clean slate and you will be able
to demonstrate that you specialize in new, quality items only.
Give it a professional name, after all, you will be selling a
large variety of new items. People can't see you so they will
have no idea that you are just starting your business. Make them
think that you have a physical store and are established. I
can't help you with the name, though don't think too long. The
first ideas are usually the best. Don't over think or you will
end up with a generic, non personable name. Nothing wrong with
"Jerry's". You get the picture. You can use your existing
account (if you have one) to sell used items and misc. goods,
also to make purchases.
REGISTER for a new account here:
(Make sure you are signed out of E-bay by clicking on the
"Sign Out" link on the top of the page. If there is a link
that says "sign in" then you are already signed out. Now
click on "Register" at the top of the page.

Getting you first eBay
Feedback instantly
Next, we will get you some quick, easy and
inexpensive feedback. If you are unaware of what feedback is,
you may learn about it
here. The difference between a rating of zero and a rating
of one is like night and day. Let's enter a search in Ebay for
auctions that people have set up solely for the sake of
exchanging feedback. You're not the only one who needs it! If
you search right, you will find them.
If these instructions are confusing, or you
just don't want to deal with it, scroll down a little. I have
created a banner with items that fit these search parameters.

Click Here to open an E-bay page. When the new window
opens, click on "Advanced Search" at the top.
- If any of the following options are
not available on the search page, you will need to click
on the "Customize
search options" link on the top left of the page and
add them to the list of search options.
- On the "Items Priced" portion; put
in "0" for the Min. and "1" for the Max
- This will give you items priced
between zero and one dollar.
- Next, under "show only" click the
"Buy it Now" box.
- This will give us auctions that we
don't have to wait for them to end.
- Go ahead and click "search". Be patient,
this will take a little while.
- If your browser times out, try again
only put a category in the category slot at the top, Art
is a good one, then click "search" again.
- What you should end up with is a page
full of categories with numbers beside them. This number
represents how many items in that category matched our
search query.
- Pick a category.
- Digital Art is a good one.
- Look for items that don't require
shipping. These auctions are usually in place solely to
exchange feedback.
- If the prices are over $1.00 for some of
the items, this is a glitch in the eBay search system. On
the right side of the screen, re-enter $0 for the minimum
and $1 for the maximum in the item priced section under
"search options".
- Go ahead and purchase one of these and
you'll have your first feedback!
Each individual Ebay seller can only increase
your feedback rating by one, so if you would like multiple
feedbacks, you must win auctions from different sellers. A
couple of positive feedbacks will work fine.
IMPORTANT:
Ebay has been known to shut down accounts that "buy" a lot
of feedback in one day. We do not suggest that you get more
than a couple a day.
Note: You cannot leave feedback for other
members when you have a new account that is less than five days
old. Don't worry about that right now, just leave them their
feedback after you have had your account for three or more days.
